Today was the eighth day of senior project at Country Club of New Hampshire. It was cold and overcast today so there were not to many golfers going out this morning. I started off the day by organizing some carts and making the kind of carts look pretty. I then helped Karl pick some range balls and clean them. Karl and I then went into the woods boarding the range and picked out as many balls as we could. After that, the course pro Derek asked me if I wanted to go out and play on the course so I took him up on that. On the course, I really focused on smart shots and not taking unnecessary risky shots. This affected my score for the better but I felt like I played worse. 5 hours today, 36 total hours.
Over the first week of senior project at the Country Club of New Hampshire, I gained valuable experience and knowledge about various aspects of working at a golf course. Throughout the week, I was mentored by Joe and Karl, who taught me the ropes and showed me different responsibilities. During the first two days, I focused on learning about the driving range and cart maintenance. I practiced hitting balls at the driving range and then picked and washed the range balls. I also learned how to clean golf carts, put up umbrellas, and ensure the smooth flow of play on the course. On the second day, I delved deeper into cart maintenance, cleaning all the carts, and checking for battery corrosion. I also assisted golfers by cleaning their carts and plugging them in.
